Birds Of A Feather

Second Year First Project - Storyteller

Choosing the idiom birds of a feather flock together i start on my research of birds, feathers and textures of those. I then went down the path of blowing ink as it created feather like characteristics and also was really fun!. This then was use for one of my film designs to print as seen in the top and middle prints in my pictures. I also created a digital film which shows a bold repeat feather which really stood strong in my designs. My colour pallet i chose and designs created a delicate look which feathers also have precious qualities.

I experimented with combining two of my prints 

puff binder - creating a puff texture that stands out on the fabric 

mixing printing inks in one image

stencilling out parts of image

layering images

The main one of all i enjoyed was creating 3D effect prints. These designs were all for interiors and would be used for bedding, wallpaper and cushions.
